Vietnam sent two diplomatic notes to China and the Philippines urging for a protest against their actions. Vietnam accuses both countries of violating maritime legislation in the disputed territory of the South China Sea.
'Vietnam strongly protests and demands that China and the Philippines respect the legal rights and interests of Vietnam, and also refrain from further actions that could worsen the situation,' says a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
The dispute in the South China Sea has lasted a long time. Vietnam, China, the Philippines, and other countries regularly encounter interference from the control over the islands and maritime territories in this region. Vietnam actively defends its interests, asserting that it has legal rights to resources in the disputed waters.
