The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the country's top leader, To Lam, will travel to Russia to participate in the parade for the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During this visit, To Lam is scheduled to participate in celebrations commemorating the historical events of World War II and have a meeting with the Russian leader to discuss matters of mutual interest between both countries.
Regarding this trip, To Lam expressed the importance of strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, as well as the significance of remembering the achievements and sacrifices of those who fought against totalitarianism during World War II.
"It is an honor to represent the Communist Party of Vietnam at this commemorative event and participate in the scheduled activities to honor the memory of those who contributed to the defeat of Nazism," To Lam stated in a statement.
This visit will also serve to reaffirm Vietnam's commitment to peace, stability, and international cooperation, as well as to explore potential areas for future collaboration with Russia in political, economic, and military matters.
